Mollen Clinic 10K

6.2 Miles - Start at 8:00 am

Do 2 laps of this flat and fast course stretching from the State Capitol Building to 3rd Ave in downtown Phoenix. Water stations will be along the way as well as music to keep your feet moving and arms pumping. Medals will be mailed to the top 3 male and female finishers based on CHIP time in the following age divisions: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55- 59, 60 - 64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+.
1st place male and female finishers (GUN time) will each receive a Southwest Airline ticket good for roundtrip travel to any Southwest Airlines destination.

Medal winner names and times will be printed in the November 19th issue of New Times.

 

The Age Race

Presented by The offical running store of the 34th Annual Phoenix 10K

Beat your age Challenge: Participants who cpmplete the 10K in a time less than their age on race day will receive a certificate in the mail celebrating their accomplishment and a special gift from Runner's Den. No need for a special sign up to be eligible.
Example: If you are 40 yrs of age and run a 39:59, YOU ARE A WINNER

5K Run

3.1 Miles - Start at 9:15 am

One lap of the course starting and finishing next to Wesley Bolin Memorial Park in front of the State Capitol Buiding. Medals will be mailed to the top 3 male and female finishers based on CHIP time in the following age divisions: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55- 59, 60 - 64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+. 1st place male and female finishers (chip time) will each receive a pair of Saucony running shoes.

Doubleheader

Want more miles than a 10K? Training for a marathon? Run the 5K also. Add $8.00 to your entry fee and get an offical time for both events and be eligible for medals in both. Special awards will be given for the best overall combined time male and female. You will get one race packet and use the same timing chip fpr both races. When you pass through the finish chute for the 10K be sure to tell the workers you are "running a double".

Wheelchair 10K

6.2 miles - Start at 7:59 am

Physically challenged participants who are trained racing athletes with racing wheelchairs are invited to compete for medals and dinners at Sweet Tomatoes. Because of safety factors all other wheelchair particpants must line up to the rear of their chosen event. Medals and dinners to the top 3 male and female finshers. Chips will be used to time all competitive chairs.

5K Walk

3.1 miles - Start at 9:17 am

Non-competitive, clocks will be posted at the finish showing elapsed time so you can see how well you did. All finishers will receive a commemorative ribbon. Children 10 and under are welcome to join in for free (no registration required for a child, no race bib or shirt provided).

Note: Timing chips are not issued for this event. If you are a race walker or power walker and want to be officially timed, you should enter the 5K Run.

Rio Salado College 5K Run Challenge

Create a team of 3 - 5 people running the 5K and pit your fastest three combined finsh times against other teams in the same divison. Maximum of 5 runners per team for the Challenge (this is different from being a general team). General teams may have up to 5 people designated as Challenge runners if they wish. You may use your general team name (recommended) or come up with a different one. Mark your registration form with the division your team is in and put the team name in the space provided. Multiple teams from the same orginazation may be entered under separate names (e.g., Company Name 1, Company Name 2, Company Name 3). There must be more than one entry in a division for awards to be given (no winners by default). Challenge runners will also be eligible for age medals and athlete incentives. Your 5K run times will be used to compute your total team time.
Challenge runners may also enter the Doubleheader.

Corporate Division - open to any full or part time members of a company
Club Division - open to members of running clubs or training teams
Open Division - No restrictions. Just get at least 3 fast people. Open division will have separate male and female winners as long as there is more than one team of each.

If you are using online registration, you must select the 5K Run or Doubleheader as your event. A team must be created first by the team captain and then the other members may register. There will be a place within the
information form for you to select your division.

Challenge Awards:

1st Place Team: Individual plaques for the fastest 3 finishers. Each team member receives dinners for 2 at Sweet Tomatoes and a pair of Harkins Theatre passes.

2nd Place Team: Individual medals for the fastest 3 finishers. Each team member receives dinners for 2 at Sweet Tomatoes.

3rd Place Team: Individual medals for the fastest 3 finishers.

5K Stroller Stroll

3.1 miles - Start at 9:17 am

Non competive event but fun for the kids and adults. The adult registers and kids ride for free. No timing chips for this event but there will be a clock at the finish line showing elapsed time. Strollers will line up behind the last walkers and start at the same time. Decorate your stroller and win dinners, movie tickets, etc. 1st place wins $50.00 gift certificate. .

USAT&F Championship

The Phoenix 10K has been selected by USAT&F to be the state championship race for the 10K distance.
You nust be an Arizona resident to qualify. If you plan to compete in this championship race (Arizona residents only) you must register prior to race day. USAT&F medals to the top 10 Arizona Male and Female finishers. USAT&F medals to the top 5 Arizona Male and Female Masters finishers.
A timing chip must be worn for timing and scoring. Times will be based on GUN time.

Timing ChipsOnly run and wheelchair event participants receive timing chips.

Timing will be done by CEP Timing using a MYLAPS BibTag system.
Each run bib will have a timing sticker affixed to it. There is nothing the participant needs to do other than wear the bib that was assigned to them. The bib should be worn on the front. For accurate result classification each participant should be sure to provide correct gender and age.

Free Kids Dash Presented by

Start at 10:30 am

This 340 yard dash is free to all kids 10 years of age & under. A non-competitive event, it will start at the official start line of the 10K. The first 300 kids who along with their parents or a guardian sign up at the United Insurance Consultants tent will receive a free Kids Dash t-shirt. A parent or guardian must fillout and sign an entry form. Entry will be on race day only. The event is administered by AZTECH Racing Team. Ribbons for all finishers.

Costume ContestPresented by

Pick an event and dress in costume OR get a group of your outgoing friends together and come as a caterpillar. You don't have to be fast & furious to win, just colorful and crazy. Stop at the YELP tent and get your picture taken with your race number visible. We will select a winner from the pictures. Best individual costume wins a $50 gift certificate and dinners at Sweet Tomatoes. 2nd and 3rd place winners get dinners at Sweet Tomatoes and Harkins Theatre Tickets. Winners in the caterpillar division (limited to 10) get dinners at Sweet Tomatoes and the use of a suite at a Diamondbacks game.

Clothing Check

Staffed by Arizona Senior Olympics, we will provide bags for your warm-ups. The clothing check site will be located next to the registration area.

Party in the Park

Post race festivities this year will be held at Wesley Bolin Memorial Park, in front of the Old State Capitol Building which is on 17th Ave. between Adams and Jefferson. Your race registration for any event entitles you to a cornucopia of food, freebies and music at our post race festivities.

Virtual Runner/Walker

Can't be there in person but would like to be there in spirit? For $20 we will send you a race t-shirt and give $10 to one of the foundations of your choosing. See the registration form for this option or use the online registration and select Virtual Runner/Walker as your event.

Special Note:

Registration fees are non refundable. Race will be held rain or shine, however the Race Director reserves the right to postpone or cancel the race due to extreme weather or any other circumstance beyond our contol. In all cases no money will be refunded.

For the safety and enjoyment of all race participants, the course is restricted to runners, joggers, walkers and self propelled wheelchairs. Strollers and baby joggers allowed only in the Stroller Stroll. Pets, skateboards, any shoes with wheels, bicycles and motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited.

Highlights of the winners will appear in the New Times on November 19th.
