HALF MARATHON
13.1 Miles - Start at 7:00 am
Returning to the Phoenix 10K event for the 2nd year, the course for this popular distance is expected to start on Jefferson near 1st Ave, circle the state Capitol and then head North on Central Avenue to a turnaround point North of Camelback Road that will send the runners back to the finish at CityScape. All finishers will get a medal designed by renowned jeweler Al Molina. Age division medals will be mailed to the top 3 male and female finishers based on CHIP time in the following age divisions: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89 and 90+. Separate award to 1st overall male and female finishers (not based on net chip time).
COUPLES DIVISION allows two people running the half marathon to register for a special price and challenge others for best combined time. A couple is defined as any two people in a relationship, any gender, but must be kept within your species.
Incentives for Half Marathon: Setting new records pays only one person for each record.
GUN TIMES will be used for determining payment and setting new records.

10K RUN
6.2 Miles - Start at 9:00 am
Starting on Jefferson close to 1st Ave, you will get to "Race the Rail" up and down Central Avenue. Water stations will be along the way as well as music to keep your feet moving and arms pumping. Medals will be mailed to the top 3 male and female finishers based on CHIP time in the following age divisions: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-7 ,80-84, 85-89 and 90+. Separate award to 1st overall male and female finishers (not based on net chip time).
In an effort to open the course back up to the community, participants should be able to finish the 10K course in one hour 45 minutes. The time limit is necessary to ensure the health and safety of all participants as the public roadways must be opened to normal traffic at specified times. Runners exceeding that pace may be asked by a course marshal or City of Phoenix Police Officer to finish the course on an adjacent sidewalk.

THE AGE RACE Presented by Runner’s Den
Participants who complete the 10K in a time less than their age on race day will receive a certificate in the mail celebrating their accomplishment and a special gift from Runner's Den. All 10K entrants are considered eligible.
Example: If you are 40 years old and run a 39:59, then you win.
USAT&F CHAMPIONSHIP
The Phoenix 10K has been selected by USAT&F to be the state championship race for the 10K and the 5K distance.
You must be an Arizona resident to qualify. If you plan to compete in this championship race (Arizona residents only) you must register prior to race day. USAT&F medals to the top 10 Arizona Male and Female finishers in the 5K and the 10K race. USAT&F medals to the top 5 Arizona Male and Female Masters finishers in the 5K and the 10K race.
A timing chip must be worn for timing and scoring. Finish position will be based on GUN time.
DOUBLEHEADER
Run more than just the 10K! Add $10.00 to your entry fee to run the 5K first. You will get an official time for both events and be eligible for medals in both. Special awards will be given for the best overall combined time male and female. You will get one race packet and use the same bib number for both races. If you have not registered for the Doubleheader you will get only one time posted even if you run twice.
For accurate timing you must finish the 5K in a time that allows you to get to the start of the 10K at 9 am.
5K RUN

Basically the same course as the 10K, only you don't have to go as far. Medals will be mailed to the top 3 male and female finishers based on CHIP time in the following age divisions: 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89 and 90+. Separate award to 1st overall male and female finishers (not based on net chip time).

These medals designed by jeweler Al Molina will be reproduced in relief on metal.
Each finisher of the Half Marathon will receive a medal at the finish line.
Age division medals with the same design will be mailed to all male and female age
division winners 3 places deep in the Half marathon, 10K and 5K.
Winners of age divisions are based on net chip time.
5K TEAM CHALLENGE
Create a team of 3 - 5 people to run the 5K and pit your fastest three combined finish times against other teams in the same division. Mark your registration form with the division your team is in and put the team name in the space provided. Multiple teams from the same organization may be entered under separate names (e.g., Company Name 1, Company Name 2, Company Name 3). There must be more than one entry in a division for awards to be given (no winners by default). Team Challenge runners will also be eligible for age medals and athlete incentives. Your 5K run times will be used to compute your total team time.
Team Challenge runners may also enter the Doubleheader.
Corporate Division - Open to any full or part time members of a company.
Club Division - Open to members of running clubs or training teams.
Open Division - No restrictions. Will have separate male and female winners as long as there is more than one team of each.
Youth Division- Male or female team (or combined) age 14 and under.
If registering online, you must select the 5K Run or Doubleheader as your event.
You must select a division and provide a team name in order to be registered as part of a team.
Challenge Awards:
1st Place Team: Individual plaques for the fastest 3 finishers. Each team member receives a medal.
2nd Place Team: Individual medals for all team members.
3rd Place Team: Individual medals for all team members.
5K WALK Presented by Phoenix New Times
3.1 Miles - Start at 8:02 am
Disposable timing chips are included on your race bib and your times will be posted at www.ceptiming.com.
Walkers should line up behind runners and will use the same start.
WHEELCHAIR 10K
6.2 miles - Start at 8:59 am
Physically challenged participants who are trained racing athletes with racing wheelchairs are invited to compete for medals. Because of safety factors all other wheelchair participants must line up to the rear of their chosen event. Medals to the top 3 male and female finishers. Chips will be used to time all competitive chairs.
OFFICIAL TIMING BY CEP
The race will be timed by CEP TIMING using disposable chips affixed to the back of your race bib. You must wear the race bib assigned specifically to you on the front of your body in order to be timed and properly placed within your age group for awards. Results will be posted online within 24 hours of race completion.
MOLLEN MILE TO PREVENT CHILDHOOD OBESITY Presented by Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Start at 10:00 am
A one mile run for all kids age 6 through 12. A non-competitive event, it will start on Jefferson at Central Ave, go west 1/2 mile to 7th Avenue, turn around and finish where it started. The $10.00 entry fee includes a special t-shirt and finisher award. Special bibs and t-shirts will be handed out on race day. A parent or guardian must fill out and sign an entry form. Entry can be submitted by mail, online or on race day (beginning at 8:30 am) only. No in store registration.
MOLLEN FOUNDATION DONATIONS
Entry forms have a space to include a tax deductible donation amount added to your registration fee to help the foundation in their efforts to prevent childhood obesity.
COSTUME CONTEST
Pick an event and dress in costume. You don't have to be fast & furious to win, just colorful and crazy. Stop at the SOLUTIONS tent in the registration area and get your picture taken with your race number visible. We will select a winner from the pictures. Best individual costume wins a $50 gift certificate.
PARTY IN THE PLAZA Presented by City Scape
Your race registration in any event entitles you to our post-race festivities. Hosted by CityScape, (Central Ave between Washington and Jefferson) post-race activities include live music by
The Grim Nancies, plenty of schwagg and much more.
SPECIAL NOTES
Registration fees are nonrefundable. Race will be held rain or shine, however the Race Director reserves the right to postpone or cancel the race due to extreme weather or any other circumstance beyond our contol. In all cases no money will be refunded.
For the safety and enjoyment of all race participants, the course is restricted to people running, jogging, walking and self propelled wheelchairs. Pets, skateboards, strollers, wheeled joggers, any shoes with wheels, bicycles and motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited. |
