What is a Team?

A team consists of at least 5 or more Walk or Race participants. Teams can be made up of friends, family, co-workers, members of community organizations, members of faith based organizations, classmates…the more the merrier!
Team members may participate in the same event or select separate events.

Team Captains

A Team Captain Handbook is available with information on creating a team, how to register and tips for fundraising.

Register on-line and create your own team. Click above to register as a Team Captain and use the following resources to recruit your team members:

• Friends (and their friends)
• Family (and their extended family)
• Co-workers (create a company team)
• Members of your community organization
• Members of your faith based organization
• Classmates (create a school team)

Your team can consist of any and all of the above! The more the merrier!

If the goal of your team is to raise funds for the DV Walk, set a team fundraising goal and remember that every $110 raised will provide two nights of safety in a shelter. Fundraise independently, or with your team members. Encourage your team members to recruit additional team members, as well!

Your Team Page

Each Team Captain will be given a Team web page which will allow them to manage their team member list and keep track of the total funds raised by their team members (if applicable). Their Team web page will be updated each time an entry that applies to their team is made.

Team Captain Meetings

For those of you who have participated as Team Captains for the DV Walk in past years, we will no longer have Team Captain meetings. BUT…you will still have opportunities to win great prizes and you will be provided with updated information through the Team Captain newsletters, which will be emailed to you a couple of times prior to the event. The newsletters will also be posted below when available.
