All events will start and finish in front of the U.S.S Arizona Memorial at Wesley Bolin Plaza, 16th Avenue and Washington.


 

10k

10K Run  (6.2 Miles) 8:30 am

Medals will be mailed to the top 3 Male & Female finishers in the following age divisions: 

10 & Under, 11 – 15, 16 – 19, 20 – 24,  25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 – 74, 75 – 79, and 80 +.

Award winners for the 10K & 5K will be listed in the November 20th issue of the New Times.
 
 


The Age Race

Presented by The official running store of the 33rd Annual Phoenix 10K

Beat Your Age Challenge:  Participants who complete the 10K in a time less than their age on Race Day will receive a certificate and special running socks from Runners Den celebrating their accomplishment.   No need for a special sign up to be eligible.
Example:  If you are 40 yrs of age and run a 39:59, YOU’RE A WINNER!
 
 


5k  Run
(3.1 Miles)   -   7:45  am

Medals will be mailed to the top 3 Male & Female finishers in the following age divisions: 

10 & Under, 11 – 15, 16 – 19, 20 – 24,  25 – 29, 30 – 34, 35 – 39, 40 – 44, 45 – 49, 50 – 54, 55 – 59, 60 – 64, 65 – 69, 70 – 74, 75 – 79, and 80 +.

Double Header

Need an extra challenge or training for a marathon?  Run both the 5K & 10K for those extra miles. Add $8.00 to your entry fee and get an official time for both events and be eligible for medals in both.  Special awards for the best overall combined time.  (Male & Female)  
 



5k Walk

This event is non-competitive but certainly a whole lot of fun for everyone.  Clocks will be posted at the finish line so you can see how well you did.

NOTE:  Chips are not needed for this event.  If you are a race walker or power walker and want to be officially timed, you must enter the 5k run.


Be a Groupie

Running or walking with a group doubles the fun.  Form a group of co-workers, family members or friends. Any member of a group that has 10 or more members will qualify for random drawings for gift certificates, dinners and more.   Each group member simply needs to write their group name on their registration form. Group members can participate together or in separate events…. The only other step is to enjoy the event!


Team Challenge - Overall Rules

Team membership is limited to a maximum of 5 members. Winning times will be determined by combining finishing times of the fastest 3 members of each team.  Each  company, club, etc may enter as many teams as they like under separate names.  Team names are limited to 20 characters. Awards will be given within each division, however, there must be more than 1 team competing in the division to be eligible for awards.  Team members are also eligible for age group awards.

TEAM CHALLENGE AND 5k WILL BE RUN SIMULTANEOUSLY 
 


Awards

Trophies awarded to winning team in each division.
1st place team members win medals and dinners for 2 at Sweet Tomatoes
2nd place team members win medals
3rd place team members win medals

Company Team….Open to any full or part time members

Club Team …Open to members of  running clubs or training teams

Fitness Centers. For bragging rights & a trophy. Open to any members of the center.

Open Division …No restrictions,  Just get at least 3 fast people. Open Division will have male & female separate Division winners

Team challenge runners may also enter the DOUBLE HEADER. 
 


5k Stroller Stroll

3.1 mile  7:47 am

Non-competitive event.  Adults pay, kids ride free.

Not a timed event so timing chips are not necessary.  Strollers line up behind last walkers.  Decorate your stroller & and win dinners and other prizes!
 


USAT&F  Arizona Championship

The Phoenix 10K  has once again been selected by USAT&F to be the state championship race for the 10K distance.  Must be Arizona resident to qualify.  If you plan to compete in this championship race (Arizona residents only) you must register prior to race day.

Wheelchair 10k Event

(6.2 miles) 8:29 am

Physically challenged participants who are trained racing athletes with racing wheelchairs are invited to compete for medals and dinners.  Because of safety factors all other wheelchair participants must line up to the rear of their chosen event.  Medals and dinners to the top 3 male & female finishers.  Chips are required for all competitive chairs. 
 


Free Kids Dash

10:15 am

This 340 yard dash is free to all kids 10 years of age & under. A non-competitive event, it will start at the official start line of the 10K.   The first 300 kids who along with their parents sign up at the ________tent will receive a free Kids Dash t-shirt.  Parents or legal guardian must fill out and sign entry form.  The event is administered by AZTECH  Racing Team.   Ribbons to all  finishers. 
 


Party In The Park

Post race festivities this year will be held at Wesley Bolin Plaza, in front of the State Capitol which is on 17th Ave and Jefferson.  Your race registration in any event entitles you to a plethora of food, freebies and music by CROSS TOWN TRAFFIC at our post race festivities. 


Race Packets:

All registrants will receive a multi-colored Phoenix 10K t-shirt, bib number and instruction book.  Packets are receivable through the mail or at selected registration sites depending on which method of registration you select. Packets can also be picked up at the Runner’s Den, November 3 -  8, or on Race Day at the registration site at Wesley Bolin Plaza beginning at 6:00 am.

TIMING CHIPS WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE AT SPECIFIED REGISTRATION TABLES ON RACE DAY.  
 


Costume Contest 

Pick an event and dress in costume OR get a group of your outgoing friends together and come as a caterpillar.  You don’t have to be fast & furious to win, just colorful and crazy.  Best individual costume wins $50 gift certificate. Other winners win dinners from Sweet Tomatoes and Harkins Theatre tickets.  Winners in the Caterpillar division (limited to 10) get dinners at Sweet Tomatoes and a suite at a professional sports event.

Volunteers Needed

An event of this magnitude cannot be staged successfully without the assistance of numerous volunteers, both individuals and groups.  Several aspects of the event require  volunteers including registration, course control and finish line.  To volunteer yourself or your group please contact Emily Anderson at emilyroseanderson@gmail.com . All volunteers will receive  an official Phoenix 10K t-shirt and a certificate for dinner at Sweet Tomatoes.
